Astronema waits in the field where he rescued her, with a beatiful picnic lunch. As time goes on, she grows more impatient and anxious. When he finally arrives, she zaps him. Zhane looks hurt, and asks what was wrong.
"Nobody stands me up, buddy!!"
Zhane explains that he didn't stand her up, that she sent a monster. Astronema doesn't know Ecliptor sent down a monster, so she thinks he's lying. After she disappears, Zhane is very despondent.

Astronema crumples his picture angrily, then sadly uncrumples it, and smiles gently at it.



This seems like a sad, depressing end for them, doesn't it? Not so. Even though she told him she never wants to see him again, Astronema often thinks of Zhane sadly. After Zhane returns from helping the people of KO-35, he learns that for a brief period of time Astronema was able to escape the evil clutches of Dark Spectre and join the rangers, but that she had been kidnapped. Zhane eagerly goes with Andros to try and rescue her, telling him he "has an interest in her as well." And it doesn't end there! After Dark Spectre is destroyed and the galaxy is safe, Zhane, Karone, and Andros all decide to stay on KO-35. When Andros is too heartbroken to leave his fellow rangers, Karone and Zhane tag along to Earth with them. (See? They're together!) With all that said, I just know Zhane and Karone found their happy ending together!
