About Zane

Zane Bennett is the seemingly spoiled son of a rich and powerful man. Early on in the series, he appears to be just a brat who likes to play pranks on his childhood friend, Emma. However, especially after being around Rikki, we see that he is just lonely and actually hates his father because he never spends any time with Zane and thinks poorly of him. He learns Rikki's secret, and, contrary to what Cleo and Emma assumed, stoutly guards it from outsiders and thinks that Rikki being a mermaid is wonderful.
